Residents of the village may be interested to hear that today (Wed), at lunchtime there was a 'Road Assessment Vehicle' operating in the village (with amber lights flashing and a 'surveying in progress' sign on the back. It passed along the roads in both directions so was probably surveying rather than just moving from A to B.

I wonder if the condition of Barroway Drove & Lady Drove managed to overload the on board equipment?

It was similar in appearance to the one at this link:

I passed it on my way towards Downham as it was bouncing down Lady Drove towards the village.

It looked like it was on a pogo stick as it went over the bumps down by the willow trees.

I'd love to see the data, it'd probably look like a mountain range Smiley

Talking of highway condition, who was it who wrote the entry for Barroway Drove on wikipedia? It reads
"The village lies on the eastern edge of the Fens and is notable for its complete lack of amenities and poor quality roads."
Priceless. I suspect either Tim or Apple.
