I've had a request for an online recipe book or database to be added to the site.

As with all new installations on the site I'll trial any new system before rolling it out to the live site so please bear with me whilst I do my checking.

Once again I am going to be looking for a system that allows you the users to add your recipes for everyone to see and use.

I've a sort of working system running in the background.  I say sort of working because I am having a few problems with the units of measure.  At present I can only get the system to work in imperial (actually US imperial) or metric not both.

I'm looking at the database structure to see if they can be merged but I am likely to break something many times whilst I try so I can't put the system live on the site.

Hopefully I will have something up and running by the weekend.

I have an electronic copy of Jamie Olivers book book which was released by his publisher by accident last christmas if anyone is interested. Andrew (AKA abt) generally have a cook off every now and again but he struggles to keep up with my curries, especially the Carribean ones (as his wife knows). Whenever my girlfriend visits i do an authentic indian style curry which goes down a treat.

The recipe book is live http://www.barrowaydrove.org/typo3/index.php?id=recipes

I've fixed the Imperial versus Metric problem but as a consequence I had to wipe the ingredients included in the database.  It'll mean a bit of extra work for the first few people adding recipes until the ingredient database covers a lot of the basics.

Take a look at the section, please give me feedback on the instructions in the web portal and the recipe system itself.  I know it's not the prettiest of pages on the site so my next priority is to try and jazz it up a bit.

*grumble* rotten Internet Explorer *grumble*

*grumble* rubbishy implementation of standards in IE *grumble*

*grumble* stupid white line in the recipe section IE insists on displaying no matter what *grumble*

*grumble* should I make everyone install Firefox (a real browser) *grumble*

*grumble* should I ask everyone to remove their glasses whilst using the site if they are using IE *grumble*

Okay back to the problem at hand.  What fun testing for multi browser compatibility is  Undecided

I've started adding recipes, including some my Sister sent me(from India) on Anglofied authentic Indian dishes.

I have half a dozen more to add but I am tired of typing today Smiley
