I thought I would start a thread for people to introduce yourself.
I'll start the ball rolling.
My name is Tim and I have been asked to get the Village Website up and running. I have a bit of website experience and a lot of first hand experience of using the internet. I work in the Telecommunications industry and have been involved one way or another with the workings of the internet backbone since about 1995.
I've lived in Barroway Drove since Christmas of 1995 and I love living here. The Village is mostly peaceful and it's nice to relax away from my work in London. Most of the big communications companies are based in London as traditionally all of the overseas cables terminated in central London.
Over to you.
Tim

OK here goes.
I'm Jude and have lived in the village since 2000 and still love it. I work as a Senior Marketing Manager for a rather large global but very BRITISH Telecoms company. I work as a permanent homeworker so I get to spend all day at home in the office, looking out at my horses - ...........bliss.

My name is Dave aka The Vicar and live in the former methodist chapel. Like Tim i work in London, i work for a local authority dealing in special needs transport for both schools and day centres. I have lived in the village since 2003 and enjoy the people i have met so far (including those i have poisened via my cooking). I try to get involved within the village community as much as possible and when ever possible (depending on how much housework etc i have to do). I would like to see more social activities within the village.

My name is Lynne (husband is Paul) we live at Homeleigh (next door but one to The Vicar). We moved to Barroway Drove from Methwold in 2002. I am an IT bod working for an International American Pharmaceutical company. Like JudeH, I am very fortunate to have a home office, as most of my work is web related for supporting the Company web technologies. I have an office at out Thetford plant but only need to go there once or twice a month and am lucky to travel abroad with my job on occasion.

Hello to everyone in Barroway Drove and beyond….
My name is Vicki and I have lived in Barroway Drove all of my life (except for 9 months of temporary insanity when I moved to the thriving metropolis that is Kings Lynn).
In 2002 I started tracing my family history and discovered at least 6 generations of my family have lived here in Barroway Drove. Consequently I became very interested in the history of the village and surrounding area and, along with my friend Patsy, have collected many photographs and other bits and pieces of memorabilia relating to the village.
I would like to put as much of that memorabilia as possible onto the history section of this website. However, sorting through the collection will take time so please be patient. And if anyone would like to help please contact me, I would be pleased to hear from you.
Also, if anyone out there has old photographs or information or stories about the village please get in touch.

Okay .. deep breath , here goes ! Hi , I'm Nikki. I think we're probably some of the newest inhabitants of the village , having moved here in August last year, from the lunacy that is Southend. I live at Follyfoot Farm, together with husband Ian, the six kids ( yes , I did say six) and the three horses. We both work as full time police officers in Central London, so do a vast amount of travelling, but one of us is always at home - who else would take on childcare of the tribe Seriously, we love it here. Far and away the nicest place we've ever lived, and we're here to stay. All I have to do is persuade the Met to let us work from home and all would be perfect. Hope to meet more of everybody soon !

I have yet another cunning plan............. being that there are two Police Ofiicers in the village, maybe they could give some home security tips. Bearing in mind the recent, not very far evnts that have been happening. ( i would rather do another Tony Martin but, that may cause a storm)

Hi my name is Kev,
I have had links to the villiage for almost 30 years, in fact my mum and dad still live there. I left in 97 when I joined the forces, I still go back as often as I can. Its good to get away from the mad world every once in a while.

Welcome to the site Kev, nice to see people are using it to keep in touch with the village once they've moved on.

Hi My name's Emma and I live with my husband, 2 young children and a small noisy dog at the less populated end of Barroway Drove (near East View). We moved here from south London in 2005 when my son was a baby and we really love it. Our baby daughter was born at home last year so she's one of the few who can claim to have actually been born in the village! I used to be a research scientist but have given up work for the time being to raise the family. My interests include gardening and cycling. We are trying to grow our own organic veg so it would be nice to meet other gardeners and exchange tips & seeds etc. You may have seen me in the past out on my bike with my little boy on the back; this year I will have the baby as well in the trailer so give us a wave when you next see us!

Welcome Emma, I think we bumped into each other on the day of the village yard sale. I was driving around taking photos of the stalls. Tim p.s. it was the bike with the trailer that made me remember p.p.s. I've been talking about having a gardening section on the site for a while, I am still interested in getting it up and running but I know what grass is and everything else is a weed so I would need assistance.
