I've done a site search and someone suggested a consortium, but I can't see that anything came of it. Is there a Barroway Drove group please?

I don't think anything came of it on the original post.  However, I might put a story up on the front of the site and see if there is any interest.

I believe I came up with that cunning plan but, no one responded. I'm keen if others are.

Me again, I love this forum!  My wife set a consortium up with Rix Petroleum, it worked like this.  Someone gets as many interested parties who use oil, the newletter is a good place to do this, then you contact the supplier (Rix were the cheapest when my wife set it up in our village) phone round a few and don't be shy about going back to see if they will move on their prices.

Dates will be set normally for 4 deliveries a year with a minimum delivery of say 250 litres.  Because the delivery lorry is only making the one journey the costs a much lower.  The company will contact consortium members to see if they want oil prior to the delivery and how much in quantity.  They will also fix the price.  We ended up with 60+ members in our village and were paying a lot less than others.  And with the 4 deliveries you could have small deliveries in winter and fill up in spring and summer when its cheaper.

Are you volunteering to record interested parties Vicar?

I can set up a page that sends you an email of interested parties if you'll do it?

We'll probably need to coordinate it with the next village newsletter so I can get it set up and have the address on the newsletter.
