The Vicar
Hopefully we are in for a good week weatherwise, if so the wheat on one half of that field will be harvested by next weekend, so by all means help yourself. I would start at the bottom end of the field near the drain if I was you and I'd greatly appreciate a peek at anything you find if possible, especially if its from the crashed Fortress. Always been interested in anything to do with flying during that period, my Dad served as aircrew with Bomber Command 1944.
The linseed should be gone as well within 2-3 weeks.

Diligent Dick
I missed this post as I was in Londonshire for the last two weeks. Being from the smoke, a field is a field to me, where abouts should I be looking !

Your Reverence
Just wondering if your metal detecting foray unearthed anything of value. If not from the Fortress then King John's Treasure would come in handy!
Should have stressed that a good place to start would be along the side of the drain at the far end, it gets cleaned every year and everything dredged out is deposited along the edge.

Dear Diligent

Nothing to report unfortunately, apart from blisters, I think teh detector was palying up a bit cos we unearthed some worms who were detected. trying to start plotting where I have detected and where I need to go. I was informed that the tail piece landed in or near the drain that goes off at an angel, need to establish who owns that piece of land so I can get on there. Did half of the stuble field from the drain towards the road.
Hopefully better luck next time round.

We did find a shed load of gold, but as it was not related to the plane we threw it all back.
