I have started thinking about creating a family tree.  I was looking at all the different systems for helping develop my tree and thought it might be nice to have an online version so my family can contribute remotely.

My family is fairly scattered geographically so if I could provide them a login to a site they could add their own information.

I've found a few systems that I have been playing with but I didn't know if this is something people would be interested in having on our site here?  I am looking for a secure system that you can make private if you want to and also a system that has the possibility to be edited off line first then uploaded on to the site.

Tell me what you think?

Tim,

wish I had found this site when I started tracing my own family tree.  What was the outcome of this or did it just die due to a lack of interest?

Regards

Nothing so far, there wasn't any interest on my message so I went looking for a solution for myself.  I've found one that works well and has the added bonus of allowing me to export it to an online tool hosted here at a later date if I want to.

It sort of died due to lack of interest, I've no problem with looking at installing a system on the site just haven't given it any further thought since my initial question.

I'll have a scout around and see what's available, I'm sure plenty has changed since I last looked into it.
