The Nordelph Website will be covering this event on Sunday 16th August (punt off 2.30)
There's been a lot of interest, with around half-a-dozen entries to date, which suggests that the race has been missed since it was last held in 2006. Either that or the innovation of having rules (no one can remember ever needing these before) has spurred people to creativity. Remember that the raft only has to stay in one piece for long enough to get from the Village Hall to the bridge (historically, most rafts don't)!
The day will also be a 'fun day' with refreshments, a raffle, a bar, a table-top sale, children's fancy dress and more. Coming along for the afternoon will be an excellent opportunity to assess the organisers' optimism in scheduling the raft race prize giving for 3.00 -- on past form, few of the rafts will be ready to start by then!
Remember that any proceeds from the day go to the Air Ambulance and the RNLI. So do come prepared to enjoy yourself.
Some people have asked about the schedule for the upcoming show.
We don't have an electronic copy of the schedule so we've put a scanned copy on the forums. You can either get it from the forum gallery or from the calendar entry in the event section here.

Tie Dying and making things that sparkle
The Children's activity this week at the Village Hall will be run as usual from 10am until Midday. The cost is £1.50 for the session, under 8s must be accompanied.
For the tie dying you'll need to bring along a T-Shirt (preferably light colour/white) to the activity.
This is the last of the summer holiday children's activities so don't miss out.
